Meet Benjamin.

In an increasingly disconnected and divided world, my work is to connect people at the soul level. I find the greatest joy in helping others connect to the “glory of being fully alive” (St. Irenaeus).

I work with folks living busy lives, moving through times of transition, searching for meaning in an uncertain world, and longing for connection to the Sacred. Often they are navigating loss and grief, facing identity questions, or looking to better share their gifts with the world. These people include athletes, doctors, veterans, and executives. My experience includes teaching a college course on the Inner Life of Activism, supporting young activists in finding the spiritual foundations for social change, serving as a hospital chaplain, providing spiritual care for the athletic department at a major university, as well as leading weekly retreats at Canyon Ranch Woodside. In addition, I have co-founded small group contemplative communities across multiple states and online.

My work bridges one-on-one companionship and small group gathering, helping people connect their inner life with the outer world. I take a gentle, playful, and contemplative approach, allowing folks to connect with the “hidden wholeness” already within them. Through working with me, people often leave with greater clarity, connection to their values, and the ability to remain compassionate in difficult situations. In community, we gather to share in authentic, vulnerable stories that recognize our common humanity.

I hold a Masters degree from Yale University studying the world’s wisdom traditions and use contemplative practices to help those I companion clarify their definition of a life well-lived. My spiritual companionship orientation is informed by Internal Family Systems, The Compassion Practice, and Acceptance and Commitment Training. It is trauma-informed and affirming of LGBTQIA+ folks.

In addition to spiritual direction, I serve as a performance coach for athletes and executive coach for organizational leaders. I am based on the West Coast.
